We don’t think anyone in our community of Aberdeen should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported Trussell, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

HOW WE OPERATE
Our food bank operates within a holistic support network which provides relief to individuals and families in food crisis in the south of Aberdeen. We do this by providing emergency food supplies (three days’ worth of nutritionally balanced food), using approved partner agencies (42 statutory, charitable and health bodies) who refer via the Trussell Trusts online E-Referral system. Between April 2024 & March 2025, we provided 1450 three-day emergency food supplies.
TLC’s goal in our three-year strategy is to ‘Fight poverty in our community by providing high quality and compassionate food bank services while working in partnership with others to make food banks a thing of the past’ with the values of Compassion, Community and Purposefulness underpinning everything we do.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, our primary mode of distributing food was via delivery due to seeking to keep both our personnel and the individual/family supported safe and continue to deliver to this day.
