Wood Group bring new life to family centre garden facilitated by TLC

Deeside Family Centre’s children’s gated garden receives a new lease of life. Friday 18th September saw 15 Wood-group accounts department employees volunteer their time and effort, alongside a £200 donation of garden materials, bringing fresh life to the family centre garden facilitated by TLC. This transformation was also supported by a £100 generous donation of plants/shrubs and wild garden seeds from Dobie’s Garden Centre and generously discounted items from HSS Hire on garden tools.

Judith Karim from Wood-Group says “Our volunteering afternoon is providing an opportunity for the UK-based Wood Group PSN Finance team to make a positive difference within the local community in line with our social responsibility core value”.

The group painted fences, put tarpaulin and ply-board up to shelter the garden and allow for children’s painting area, as well as digging and planting. These improvements will greatly enhance the sensory experience of the children who will be attending the centre alongside their parents. The gardens aim is to provide exploring opportunities for both nature and wildlife for the community in and around the centre.

A big thank you to all who were involved in an exciting and worthwhile few hours last Friday afternoon.
